Vault Implementation Streamlines Workflows for Livingston & Haven

Vault Implementation Streamlines Workflows for Livingston & Haven

Customer challenge

Livingston & Haven, a leading industrial technology provider, used an outdated workflow with Windows Explorer to manage their data. Vault was previously implemented by another provider but was not being used.

Project goals

Upgrading and reconfiguring Vault would allow Livingston & Haven to handle current and future business needs with their engineering processes. A better and more consistent flow of documentation from RFQ through project execution and delivery was also necessary.

Solution

Vault Implementation and Training services were used to impact the overall adoption of the product. New workflows were introduced along with significant customization via the Vault Data Standard. The new Vault environment streamlines the setup of new RFQ and Production projects in Vault, captures relevant metadata up-front, and allows Livingston & Haven to manage the entire lifecycle of their CAD documents, from RFQ to field installation and service.

Business outcome

A revised security environment allowed Livingston & Haven better control over their users and data. Revised engineering and RFQ lifecycles provided the ability to control how all data works through their Vault and made their pre-sales documentation process quicker overall. The custom Data Standard saves several minutes per project by automating folder creation and transition of documentation from the RFQ phase to the Production/Delivery phase.

Conclusion

While Livingston & Haven had previously attempted to implement Vault Professional, a complex configuration coupled with difficult end-user workflows led to limited adoption. Hagerman worked with Livingston & Haven to make the Vault configuration more closely meet their needs while maximizing ease of use via customization. This increased the likelihood of adoption and led to a successful implementation.
