SUCCESS STORY
Using Sub-Divisional Capabilities of Alias Concept for Concept Modeling
Customer Challenge
Royal Enfield is an Indian motorcycle company and was using Autodesk Products such as Alias SpeedForm and Alias Design which strengthened their design language that they have been doing for decades. The policy released from Autodesk in July 2019 created a need to update their business workflow solutions due to discontinuation of Alias SpeedForm and Alias Design which merged into Alias Concept.
Project Goals
Royal Enfield needed to adapt to this new change and overcome the challenge of limitations in concept modeling capability in Alias Concept.
Solution
TATA ELXSI LIMITED helped Royal Enfield to find and adopt a solution. The technical solution architect helped Royal Enfield understand new advancements that they can leverage through Alias Concept: Alias Concept has a tool set of Sub-Divisional modeling which enables the users to utilize Alias subdivision bodies with a collection of continuous NURBS surface patches to also inherit characteristics from Alias surfaces.
Business Outcome
Royal Enfield migrated their Alias SpeedForm licenses to Alias Concept after exploring the Sub-Divisional capabilities in Alias Concept and adopting it into their workflow. They are very content to be able to speed up the process with this implemented solution.
Conclusion
Through their technical expertise in Autodesk Alias, TATA ELXSI LIMITED was able to help Royal Enfield through the product change resulting in structured and clear workflows.
