Transforming Schools Through Renovation & Renewal

Transforming Schools Through Renovation & Renewal

Customer challenge

Architecture for Education (A4E) is a California-based architecture firm focusing solely on educational facilities. They believe that a school is the most influential place in the world, outside of the home. Using this belief they need to be able to create 3-Dimensional spaces inspired by how their clients use their environments. Coming from a 2D design standard, they needed to bring their 3D modeling and design to the next level while allowing their clients to fully visualize their new environment.

Project goals

The team at A4E presented their current workflow to Motion Media to review for opportunities for improvement. In collaboration with Motion Media and A4E, a plan was established that would enable the A4E design team to work more efficiently while meeting their client's goals and expectations. A primary goal was to move to the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Collection to achieve better performance and allow for enhanced 3D modeling and rendering options.

Solution

We came to the conclusion that the design team required the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction (AEC) Collection to realize their client's wants and visualize them with ease. The team now has access to Autodesk Revit for designing in 3D, 3ds Max for visualizations and rendering, and AutoCAD for any 2D work that needs to be done. The complete solution provided by the AEC Collection helped them to create realistic visualization in order to finalize designs for their clients.

Business outcome

The design team successfully transitioned to the AEC Collection and now feels confident in their ability to provide the whole package for their clients. Their new capability allows them to show their clients a more complete design and earn more business.

Conclusion

Motion Media was able to evaluate the current workflow at A4E and through a thorough review process determine that the AEC Collection was the logical choice to help A4E advance their workflow. With their new capabilities in 3D and visualization, A4E will better be able to serve their clients and help them to fully visualize their designs before moving forward. This keeps costs lower as the process moves from design to construction and no one is surprised at the outcome.
