Sustainability Starts at VK Architects & Engineering in the Early Design Phase

Customer challenge

VK Architects & Engineers has been a leading design and engineering consultancy for over 65 years. They offer architectural, engineering and infrastructure design solutions in four markets: Healthcare, Buildings, Industry and Infrastructure. Recently, they were looking for a good solution to enable their flexible teams to work better together, with all data accessible to everyone. VK's design teams follow a fairly classical process: they use Autodesk Revit and each designer has his own team space. The exchange of design data could be much better and more structured, but they are designers and not process managers. Since all the modelling users were already working with Autodesk BIM 360, including Revit Cloud Worksharing and Design Collaboration, they partnered with Arkance Systems to find a solution within this ecosystem.

Project goals

As a leading company, VK wants to be a pioneer in its sector. Their main mission is therefore to focus on architectural building projects in which people and the environment take central stage. Solution

After some adjustments and short training sessions, Arkance Systems soon proposed a concrete solution, based on the Autodesk Construction Cloud and its BIM 360 Collaborate module, which was successfully implemented by VK.

Finally, they speak the same language at VK Architects & Engineers. From the early design stage, they let Autodesk's BIM 360 Model Coordination do the work. Instead of exporting files and losing time, the VK staff can now detect clashes live on the model. The communication between all designers is also much smoother. Every designer who works with Autodesk BIM 360 can automatically validate their work through Model Coordination and adjust it if necessary, whenever and wherever they want.
