Customer challenge

Servei Catala de la Salut of Catalonia, well known as Catsalut, is the Health Department of the Government of Catalonia in Spain. As an urgent action to mitigate the impact of Covid-19, a decision was made to strengthen the health system including the construction of new infrastructures such as polyvalent hospitals. The particularities of these new hospitals are that instead of being isolated in new locations, they were planned to be directly connected with bridges to existing reference active hospitals in the region. In this way, they act as an extension of services to help optimize critical human and clinical resources. The other important point is the urgency for these constructions. Solution

GIS-to-BIM INTEGRATION The challenge is to have an easy way to integrate multiple assets in a single platform with just one click and locating buildings and infrastructures in the territory. The answer is POWERBIM, which integrates Autodesk BIM 360 Docs and Revit files with our innovative GIS-to-BIM integration platform. We can integrate simple volumetric shapes representing buildings and link BIM models directly to them. STATIC & DYNAMIC DATA, INTEGRATED The challenge was to integrate multiple types of information in a single platform that enabled ease of use. Data coming from BIM, data coming from external files for planning, or media services coming from 2 kinds of cameras (IP fixed cameras provided by developer's companies and Go-Pro portable cameras), can all be integrated into a streaming emission in real-time. As a result, one single operator in the field can share the inspection data to multiple persons at home and guarantee the sanitary requirements due to Covid-19.

Business outcome

The solution was successful because we created an easy answer to a complex problem of not being able to be in the field physically for construction management purposes. The solution enabled accessing the media recordings and other data including video recordings in the field from a cloud app, so we provided a completely new way to manage the processes, create issues and send to responsible agents to resolve them in real-time. Most importantly, the workflows were integrated into just one platform enabling everything that the customer needs to perform throughout construction inspections.

Conclusion

We discovered with the customer and collaborators that cloud solutions are the answer for multiple problems we are facing from the pandemic. The health sector especially needs to address these problems and to deploy innovative technology solutions to achieve their important goals.
