PPC Engineering sought to address a temporary need for design drafting without interrupting their primary drafting team’s attention to current design projects and without having to hire new staff to deal with occasional work overloads.

Project Goals

Considering what was a temporary spike in their drafting needs; PPC needed to: 1. Temporarily increase its staff’s drafting capacity without disrupting their primary design drafter’s attention to ongoing current projects. 2. Align themselves with a professional services provider with which they can rely on for non-critical drafting services in the future.

Solution

The D3 Technologies Engineering Team engaged with PPC Engineering as a consulting design drafting resource by gathering the necessary PPC drafting standards as a first step. Secondly, D3 met with PPC through a Web-meeting to confirm the project scope-of-work and drawing files to be dealt with. Finally, a line of communication was established between the D3 Technologies design drafting resources and the PPC project lead and QC contact for a smooth and cohesive workflow between D3 and PPC.

Business Outcome

PPC Engineering, through engagement with D3 Technologies professional services, was able to address what was a temporary drafting overload. The consultative drafting services enabled PPC Engineering to fulfill the necessary documentation to complete its internal documentation package and an external documentation requirement by its customer.
