Optimization of Product, Design & Manufacturing tools to improve productivity - Alco S.A.S.

Alco S.A.S., a company specialized in the design, manufacture and installation of glazed structures in Colombia, saw the need to implement more specialized methodologies that had an impact on the efficiency of its production process, the staff of the user area did not have very advanced knowledge in the use of the different software of Autodesk - Product, Desing & Manufacturing Collection, Inventor, AutoCAD, Fusion and Vault which led to an execution of the activities in greater times and in many cases with reprocesses, Alco S.A.S. was faced with finding a way to be more productive in the workflows, to have a more timely response that adapted to the demands and accelerated changes of the market.

To respond to this great challenge, Alco S.A.S. set itself the following objectives:

• Examine the potential of Product, Desing & Manufacturing Collection, Inventor, AutoCAD, Fusion and Vault , for document lifecycles and the implementation of new tools.
• Generate an advanced understanding of Autodesk Inventor's Ilogic tool, which allows the automation of different processes or very repetitive tasks within the workflow.
• Deepen on the operation, scope and features of the Autodesk Product, Desing & Manufacturing Collection, Inventor, AutoCAD, Fusion and Vault tools

Each of these objectives were aimed at optimizing the usability of Autodesk software by work teams and ensuring that this was reflected in their production process.

Alco S.A.S. found in MCAD T&C, a trusted ally with whom it managed to work together an analysis of the workflows, a diagnosis of the level of knowledge that the staff of the user area of the different Autodesk tools had and a tailor-made accompaniment plan was adapted, integrated by an adoption plan and specialized training in the tools of Product, Desing & Manufacturing Collection, Inventor, AutoCAD, Fusion and Vault , which allowed him to know and deepen the potential of these, the benefits and adaptability that they could provide to his production process and to the improvement of the work standards that were established in the different teams.

Alco S.A.S. through the teamwork carried out with MCAD T&C, managed to understand the different tools, advantages and facilities offered by the PDM Product, Design & Manufacturing Collection of Autodesk and adopt them to the needs of their workflows, obtaining a great impact on their productivity. They also achieved that the user area went from a basic level use with the Inventor, Vault and Fusion software to a higher level, focusing this new knowledge on the optimization of their processes and the creation of new productive standards, more agile and with the possibility of performing better analysis of the specifications and accuracy of the parts and structures.

Thanks to the accompaniment of MCAD T&C and the adoption plan and training in the scope of the different tools of the PDM collection (Product, Desing & Manufacturing), Alco S.A.S. managed to implement within its work team, a higher level in the production process of the company, reaffirming that it is a company oriented to innovation and the search for initiatives that can lead it to be recognized for its ability to apply the best technologies in the different products, generating results every day with the highest standards of quality and excellence.
