SUCCESS STORY
Moving from CAD to BIM for Main Con Submission Increases Productivity for S.H. STAINLESS STEEL CONTRACTOR
Customer Challenge
S.H. STAINLESS STEEL CONTRACTOR PTE LTD is specialized in the assembly and fabrication of industrial equipment, steel metal and structural works. They faced the challenge of having a tedious process for preparing CAD drawings for approval workflow. They spent lots of time reproducing the same drawings from design to construction phase without visualization and submitting them to the Main Con (MC). This caused multiple errors and decreased their productivity significantly.
Project Goals
In order to improve their efficiency in preparing MC submissions, our team at INNOCOM TECHNOLOGIES helped S.H. STAINLESS STEEL to solve their challenge by using BIM-based processes and moving them to BIM submission for approval.
Solution
Part of the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection is not only a set of CAD tools, but also BIM tools that support projects with contractors from early-stage design through to construction which is perfect for the current project of S.H. STAINLESS STEEL. BIM standards of LOD 400 together with the integrated workflow helps them with efficient Main Con approval submissions.
Business Outcome
S.H. STAINLESS STEEL saw an overall improvement in productivity through the cloud collaboration and reduction in rework and errors due to seamless workflows.
Conclusion
"S.H. STAINLESS STEEL assisted us with finding the right solution to improve our BIM Model Workflow that is now on par with the Main Con's standardization guideline. It improved productivity and reduced rework time. Additionally we are now able to have 3D visualization before construction!", said Ng Shi Ting, S.H. STAINLESS STEEL CONTRACTOR PTE LTD.
