Customer challenge

Meneta is one of the world's leading manufacturers of anti-noise shims and back plates with production plants and testing facilities worldwide. Meneta has specialized in development, test, and production for the automotive industry. Quality is a key issue which is why they constantly focus on design, choice of materials, and methods of production. To maintain and improve overview on products, delivery, and traceability, they decided to go from manual connected processes in spreadsheets to a digitally connected solution to streamline their preparation processes.

Project goals

Meneta and Autodesk Solution Provider NTI worked together on mapping current processes and strived to end up with prioritized project goals and a step-by-step plan. The overall project goal: Connect requirements to the design documentation and production preparation process and have digital product traceability from quotation to production test. It derived other sub-goals: Access to correct and updated product documentation, in one place. Additional complementary project goals identified were as follows: 1) Enable an overview on progress, with KPI’s to measure progress. 2) Create approval and sign-off reporting, for traceability. 3) Enable integration to SAP for full value chain integration.

Solution

Following an initial solution review and business needs analysis, the solution implemented is based on Autodesk Fusion 360 Manage with integration to other systems like SAP and SolidWorks. The solution is integrating different departments, and providing digital workflows and progress on key areas: 1) Quotation & Sales, connecting product platforms to car vendors. 2) Project handling, connecting quotes to qualification, materials, and tools. 3) Production preparation, connecting projects and products to instructions and PPAP reports.

Business outcome

Having implemented a digital solution connecting different departments, Meneta is now able to have more detailed and quicker overviews on their product quality and documentation process. By adding notification, task management and automation to report generation and integration to ERP systems, data is always updated and traceable, throughout the value chain; they are able to trust data is valid and updated, the foundation for better and quicker decisions.
