SUCCESS STORY
Integra Engineering LTD Saves Time and Money with IMAGINiT's ProductivityNOW
Customer Challenge
Incorporated in the city of Lloydminster in 1997, and built on a foundation of experience, knowledge, integrity and service, Integra Engineering Ltd. is service design firm which specializes in providing complete engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services to the oil and gas industry.
“A main component of Integra’s success is our focus on taking the time to develop and maintain relationships with our clients’ field personnel,” said Duane Liebelt, senior designer at Integra. “Integra didn’t want its designers spending valuable time on software lessons that were too basic or too advanced, or that were on a software not needed for their specific design activities. The company, as well as the individuals, wanted to get the knowledge needed and get back to providing expertise and support to the people who will work at the facilities we design.”
Project Goals
“Empowering our designers to identify specific needs and dive right into the training was the solution for us,” said Duane. “Whether someone needed a quick answer to an Autodesk Navisworks workflow challenge or to gain advanced lessons on Autodesk ReCap Pro, ProductivityNOW would make it easy.”
Solution
Integra worked with IMAGINiT to develop an approach that would give their 15 employees in the Mechanical Drafting, Electrical Drafting and Document Control departments access to the resources available through ProductivityNOW.
Business Outcome
Designers at Integra immediately started using all the features of ProductivityNOW. “We were impressed with the quality of the content and the responsiveness of the IMAGINiT support team,” said Duane. “I have personally contacted them with urgent questions via email, and each time I had a call back within 10 minutes. The technicians even stayed on the phone until the issue was completely resolved.”
Based on their discussions with IMAGINiT, Integra had several expectations. ProductivityNOW delivered on them all:
1. Money saved – The online training eliminated the need for costly travel to in-person classes
2. Time saved – Designers got the information they needed when they needed it, instead of having to wait for formal training classes or a co-worker to help
3. Productivity increased – Teams focused more time on project related activities instead of software tasks
Conclusion
Additionally, as the oil and gas industry slowed due to Covid-19 challenges and all Integra employees started working from home, the company realized a stronger return on their investment than they originally expected.
“With the industry slowdown, our people had more time to focus on their professional development. And the fact that we could no longer walk up to co-workers for quick demonstrations meant we were spending more time looking for answers ourselves and getting to know the functionality of ProductivityNOW,” said Duane. “Now that we are settling into this new routine and the oil and gas industry is picking up, we are more skilled at Autodesk software in general and, when questions come up, we know where to go for answers: ProductivityNOW. Its vast amount of information and its searchability means we can find answers quickly. Our expanded knowledge base will help us deliver better services to our customers.”
