FS Engineering and Garam Group Easily Transition to Named User
Customer Challenge
FS Engineering wanted to ensure that the transition to named user caused no interruption in workflow.
Project Goals
For over 20 years, FS Engineering had been using Autodesk network (multi-user) licensing and deployment with their trusted IT provider, the Garam Group. They were aware that significant time loss could occur if they weren't properly prepared when their license file timed out. The object was to have all users become familiar with newly formed Autodesk Accounts and be able to sign in and utilize their design tools, while minimizing efforts from their IT provider.
Solution
The 2 for 1 trade in offer was welcomed, along with the 1:1 user to license ratio, eliminating bottlenecks from all licenses being in use. Robotech carefully laid out procedures to use so that users could easily access their tools both in the office and while working remotely and provided guidance to users to to ensure that 4 easy steps was really 4 easy steps.
Business Outcome
With each user spending less than 5 minutes to set-up their accounts, no interruptions in workflow occurred and added benefits of less time spent by IT service to accommodate users working remotely resulting in greater productivity and a better user experience.
Conclusion
Eric Barnum, Project Engineer from the Garum Group states:
"I will speak with Marlene [from FS Engineering] and we will probably just end up doing it manually. I appreciate the information." The ease of transition made for a trouble free switch over, and added benefits provided for greater economy.
