Customer Challenge

Engineered Design Group was established in 2002, and provides a wide range of engineering services – Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Refrigeration. Although a relatively young firm, EDG is looking to establish itself as one of the main players in the Northeast region for supermarket and retail work, while also satisfying clients in the areas of commercial, industrial, institutional work, and green building design. Aware that Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection has interoperable components, they turned to Robotech for help.

Project Goals

Engineered Design Group has become one of the most sought after firms in the Northeast. As project challenges arise which often show the integrity of a firm, however EDG has always stepped up and resolved any challenge professionally and efficiently. They needed to implement BIM more effectively through specialized and customized training, tailored to a variety of disciplines within one week. Autodesk Revit MEP with it's multiple disciplines was the main focus

Solution

With the option of remote training, Robotech customized a course plan for Autodesk Revit MEP that enabled each participant to learn about specific tools, allowing them to rapidly engage in a project with little disruption to their existing workflow. Sessions were set-up for some of their team to concentrate on plumbing and mechanical aspects of their refrigeration units, while other sessions were tailored for the electrical designers.

Business Outcome

Because of EDG's responsiveness due to the efficiency of BIM practices utilizing both Autodesk AutoCAD MEP and Autodesk Revit MEP in the Autodesk Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection, they now experience a very high rate of customer satisfaction, and have projects with most major supermarket chains in the New York - New Jersey metropolitan area.
