Change Management and Software Implementations

Customer challenge

Design Collective and CADD Microsystems share a long-standing trusted partnership, where they are empowered to grow upon our recommendations and best practices. The projects we tackle with Design Collective are focused on change management, such as their transition to Revit, and their subsequent adoption of BIM360 Design. Our relationship continues to this day with their use of our custom educational resources.

Project goals

As we focus on change management with Design Collective, our goal as their full-service partner is to provide them with the tools necessary to seamlessly execute change company-wide. They have excellent people in-house who lead these changes, so CADD’s goal is to be a strong resource and gap-filler for those internal managers. In addition to implementation and change management, we also develop and teach custom training programs, so their people stay ahead of the curve with industry technology a

Solution

Over the years we have provided everything from hands-on implementation consulting to training programs produced specifically for Design Collective. They are active members of our Revit Baltimore User Group, and have since joined its advisory board. We provide a holistic view of what Autodesk and CADD have to offer their business, and with that information, they make the best and most valuable decisions for their growth.

Business outcome

Design Collective’s transition to Revit has been so successful that they use it as a selling point for their business. They are also huge proponents of BIM360 Design after its productive implementation, and now encourage other companies to adopt it. They correctly tout themselves as technology leaders, and how we helped them get there is paramount to their success. Our partnership has only improved with each service, and we now co-present at conferences with them.

Conclusion

CADD’s objective to be a full-service partner is always defined uniquely by the customer’s needs and principles. Design Collective’s desire for safe growth and company-wide education leads to us support them in these ways, and we celebrate their self-sufficiency in the process. Based on what is best for Design Collective, our goal is to provide their team with the proper resources, support and education to perform outstandingly.

A Morton Thomas & Associates (AMT) is a multidisciplinary engineering and design consultancy headquartered in Rockville, MD, with 20 offices throughout the eastern US. AMT holds contracts with multiple states in the Mid-Atlantic region to provide construction engineering inspection and construction management of highway construction projects for each state’s respective Department of Transportation. As part of their contract requirements for their Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) contract, AMT had standardized on Autodesk PlanGrid for project and field management. When their current PlanGrid contract was up for renewal, AMT worked closely with CADD Microsystems and Autodesk to ensure that they procured the correct solution to meet their current project requirements and to ensure they had the right solution for the future, as they anticipate the potential future contract requirement changes with their DOT clients.
