Customer Challenge

Afcons Infrastructure Ltd. wanted to train its Design team to use Autodesk Revit for a new Metro station project that required BIM model design and review.

Project Goals

There was a mandate from the Metro Project owners to use a BIM platform for better design, proper coordination across disciplines and clash detection and correction.

Solution

The Autodesk Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) Collection was discussed and found to be best fit for effective BIM modeling, review and coordination for the Metro project. Genesis Infoserve Pvt. Ltd., Autodesk Solution Provider for Afcons, interacted with the Design team for a system study, identified specific needs of the Afcons Design team for BIM and provided User Workshops on Revit Architecture and structure and Navisworks for the team members so that they are able to meet the project BIM requirements. Afcons users now are able to use Revit comfortably along with Navisworks for model review, clash detection and correction in 3D for BIM projects for Metro Stations, corridor design and pre-construction reviews and collaboration.

Business Outcome

Afcons has benefitted in getting properly detailed and accurate 3D parametric models for internal reviews and client presentations and significantly improved design collaboration across disciplines.

Conclusion

The Autodesk AEC Collection is a complete package for implementing a BIM platform smoothly. User training and after-support activities done by Genesis Infoserve Pvt. Ltd. have helped Afcons for a successful BIM adoption.
