SUCCESS STORY

BIM 360 Design and Build Implementation

Customer Challenge

MCA Architecture (MCA) wanted to improve the understanding of design changes while controlling the timing of the release of design changes.

Project Goals

The main goals of MCA were to develop the connectivity, and the collaboration. Both teams were in a crunch to enable remote collaboration between design teams.

Solution

MCA wanted to set up BIM 360 Design. They needed a specific project template and specific training to show them how to migrate data and Revit central files to the cloud. We kicked off the project with an alignment and review meeting, which we propose in each Accelerator Starter Pack, and were able to use the customer's time as effectively as possible. Overall, we spent four (4) hours on training and two (2) hours on support training following the deployment. Post implementation workflow consulting allowed the team to establish additional collaboration efficiency with the build team.

Business Outcome

Thanks to our support, we were able to eliminate slow and failed VPN connections, ensure a smooth implementation and set up a fast collaborative workflow.

Conclusion

What makes this engagement so unique is the level of automation and virtualization. It’s almost like sitting in a class learning a new language, where the instructor only speaks in that language. Using virtual meeting tools and connections further reinforces the “working together remotely” interactions. The most impactful component of the delivery is that, at the end of the day, the design teams are in full production using workflows that while familiar, are different.
