WAU Animation specialize in end-to-end CG animation production. The movie "Ejen Ali" had become the first intellectual property created by WAU’s team. Their team wanted to utilize Autodesk solutions, but the products required extensive learning in order for them to become a maestro in animation production. For the production of Ejen Ali, Autodesk solutions significantly contributed an effective tool for WAU Animation in character creation, animation and lighting. Autodesk Mudbox helped to enhance and enlighten the 3D sculpting and painting for the characters in Ejen Ali. Autodesk Arnold was mainly used for look-dev, surfacing and rendering work for objects and characters. Autodesk Maya was used by WAU Animation to make the animation feel alive throughout with high level of detail.

Business outcome

Autodesk solutions provide a complete solution for CG Animation. WAU Animation's team has been familiar with Autodesk solutions and building out on those instead of switching to anything else, saved them from a huge investment and a lot of time. They were able to overcome the learning curve for production with our provided support, caught up to international levels of creativity and quality, and successfully produced an outstanding work resulting in Malaysia’s highest grossing animated movie.

In BIM, different technology tools are required, and Progressive introduced us about Autodesk BIM and Autodesk Revit functionality. We did try-out Autodesk Revit and source the market for alternative solution. And we did finalize our decision with Autodesk Revit and the ease how Autodesk Revit can work with. The post- trainings and support we seek have given our team the confidence to work with Revit to develop our designs for the project.
