Vault Drastically Decreased our Miscommunication Errors
At Imperial Industries, we've been designing and manufacturing specialized storage solutions for more than 41 years - constantly evolving to meet the changing needs of your industry. That dedication to growing alongside our valued customers has allowed us to advance from a maker of agricultural feed bins into the industry leader in manufacturing industrial dry bulk storage tanks as well as vacuum sanitation tanks, trucks, replacement parts, and accessories. Today, Imperial Industries operates four distinct product lines, serving the industrial bulk storage, commercial waste and agricultural markets, and offering a full line of replacement and custom parts and accessories for your vacuum waste tanks and trucks. We turned to Autodesk Vault to help with the management of Inventor files. Imperial has been considering the move to 3D CAD software for some time. Now seems to be the right time and Vault is simply a better way to manage all the files associated with Inventor than trying to just use a simple Windows Explorer file system.

Autodesk CAM Solutions Deliver Quality, Efficiency, and Capability
Early experience with Pratt & Whitney on the joint strike fighter program gave me a real-world appreciation for sub-tenths precision and high-end manufacturing processes. While a design and engineering manager for a high-end architectural sign company, some community college machine shop training gave me a start in hands-on machining. This culminated in an internship for an R&D group in Florida for Disney, and due to not enough work for a full-time employee led to the creation of Barton Engineering Solutions. Disney was looking for a complete design-build service, which resulted in adding a Grizzly Knee Mill and engine lathe into the garage shop, along with a dynasty TIG and 220 Millermatic. When a large project for a rehabbed Enchanted Tiki Room came across my desk moved to a larger shop and realized the need for CNC. I didn’t know anything about it, and I thought CNC was only for big shops with 3 shifts and rows of machines run by apprentice-trained machinists. A mentor started teaching me CAM and the system was slow and we would import 3D CAD data and spend a lot of time extracting 2D data that already existed to go directly into toolpaths. One late-night search I found Autodesk HSMworks, and from there it has been straight magic.
Custom Fusion 360 Post with Rapid Support
Steel Craft Technologies, an ISO 9001-2015 certified steel service center located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, continues to raise industry standards for quality steel products along with on-time delivery. Steel Craft Technologies strives for excellence daily by consistently producing quality steel products that always include best-in-class customer service.Steel Craft’s continued focus on quality and on time delivery led to (3) robots and (1) multi-axis CNC machine in an automated cell capable of handling one off steel parts up to approximately 1,100 lbs. efficiently as though we were running production parts. We were challenged with needing a post for Fusion 360 that could utilize probing, tool break detection, multi-axis machining, and more at the CNC machine,  but also able to simultaneously output multiple files for the automation to verify material, work holding and process it through the cell. That is when we looked to Autodesk Solution Provider NexGenCAM for support.

Angel City Woodshop was born in early 2016, founded by Paul Moorhead. Paul was a self-taught furniture maker and operated alone for some time. Over the years we have expended into a team and have built a reputation in Los Angeles as one of the premier high-end custom furniture shops in the city. Our goal is to produce pieces that celebrate beauty, craftsmanship, and high design for every client we serve.Like many small businesses, our needs and challenges are always shifting fast. We had long-outgrown our original shop space in Mid-City Los Angeles, and recently moved to a much larger space near downtown. CNC routing has become essential for our process, but we had been using the machine of a neighbor in our old location. When we moved we were finally able purchased a top-of-the-line machine for ourselves. Our machine was made custom and has very specific needs in terms of post-processing. We turned to Autodesk Solution Provider NexGenCAM to custom produce the Fusion 360 post-processor that would maximize the capabilities of our CNC router to meet the needs of our shop.

Rapidly Increase R&D and Production
In business since 1994, Aimpro Tactical grew up with traditional CAD/CAM processes and machining techniques. In 2018, the team developed a new product, now covered by 2 US Patents, from which they built a prototype and completed small batches on a Prototrac DPM. Using a separate third party vendor to draw/model in Solidworks and then another to CAM out code in Mastercam or other CAM software, the company moved at what now seems like glacial speed. The challenge was to grow the product line from one specific application and dramatically increase the number of product lines and the number of units produced. This continues to grow and the team is expanding their machining and production capabilities each month. During this time, they are maintaining high-end quality and tight tolerances while minimizing scrap parts and set up times. The company's end user customers expect and demand the highest quality and Aimpro Tactical is committed to delivering only that.
