Arora Engineers is a revolutionary firm that delivers MEP design and pre-construction services by emphasizing the technology and processes that connect systems infrastructure, improve operations and longevity and make life safer and easier for those who use it. In this capacity, Arora Engineers was asked to provide its services for the Expansion and Renovation of the JFK Airport Terminal 8 project. To do this, Arora planned on using Autodesk Revit and other BIM technology tools, but it was also looking to optimize the process of collaborating with the other trades involved in the project.
Harman Deutsch Ohler Architecture decided to make Autodesk Revit a staple of the office design workflow moving forward. They committed to incremental training on Revit essentials for all users in the office and the development of an office template that would translate their extensive Autodesk AutoCAD detail library to a cohesive template structure to be used for all future projects.
Rosenbaum Design Group needed to take their staff to a higher level so that the firm would model more intelligently, reduce rework, and allow designers and clients to experience their designs in a more immersive way. They decided to implement Autodesk Revit and provide training to their entire CAD staff while they were working from home. RDG strived to complete this before their return to in-person work. But how do you convert a humming, successful practice in the middle of the pandemic?
Building Conservation Associates (BCA) is a New York-based firm that specializes in the technical and historical aspects of restoring buildings and works of art. One of the firm’s earliest preservation projects was restoring the historic Ballantine House at the Newark Museum of Art.
In a meeting with Microsol Resources, BCA mentioned they wanted a construction management workflow that leverages cloud technologies to enable their field and office teams to collaborate seamlessly with their general contractor. “We want to keep the project on track and have the ability to link nearly any reference - photos, issues, documents – with connected workflows so they can understand the impact of changes faster,” said Stacy Albanese, Assoc. Director at BCA.
Even though the BCA team has extensive experience with the project process and worked well, BCA recognized the need to increase efficiencies.
Kingfish Maine is a vertically integrated and technology-driven aquaculture leader in the sustainable production of premium marine seafood.
As a designer, builder, and operator of state-of-the-art facilities, leveraging Autodesk Revit and other BIM technology tools has improved the workflow between designers and the construction arm. Kingfish Maine was looking to improve the process in the areas of project and file management.
Design Republic (DR) is a highly experienced architectural design firm specializing in the corporate workplace, retail, and media technology design. Design Republic began implementing BIM in their office a few years ago and reached out to Microsol Resources to train the entire staff and optimize their project templates. Without a full-time BIM Manager, this transition was fragmented. Successes and optimization were limited to a few projects.
Remington and Vernick Engineers (RVE), one of the oldest engineering consulting firms in the country, decided to create even greater efficiency in their already effective AutoCAD workflows by introducing BIM more fully across multiple offices and disciplines. Many consultants had been utilizing Revit for years, using internal and external resources as projects progressed; however, there was a need to develop a Revit template that could streamline the workflow for all parties and projects.
