De Valk Machinebouw's Switch to Autodesk Fusion 360
Machinefabriek de Valk is a dynamic organization located in Valkenswaard, near Eindhoven. They specialize in the manufacture of mechanical components in all common types of steel, nonferrous metals and plastics, as well as the complete manufacture and assembly of modules and machines. Machinefabriek De Valk in Valkenswaard not only develops and builds machines for clients from home and abroad, the company is also a supplier of (complex) components and modules for, among others, ASML. To connect digitally with these types of large customers, De Valk switched to Autodesk Fusion 360 with the support of Cadac Group. 'Our people are very happy with the switch,' says director John Hagelaars.
Rapid Growth Thanks to CAD/CAM Software: Autodesk Fusion 360
Hostma Machinebouw is a young, ambitious and dynamic company. They deal with complex machines and mechatronic products. In their company, there is a pleasant working atmosphere with a lot of freedom. Their employees are driven professionals with a good work ethic. They think in terms of solutions and do everything they can to deliver a fine example of high-tech mechanics for you every time. Not long after moving to Westerhoven, Stan Maas ran into fellow villager Marco Takx, CAD/CAM specialist at Cadac. “He saw that we were working with rather traditional CAD/CAM software and came up with an enthusiastic story about Autodesk Fusion 360. I had never heard of it. Must be pricey and complicated, I thought, but after a short demonstration I wanted to give it a try. Especially when Marco mentioned the price: 415 EUR for a one-year license. We followed a basic course together with our engineer and we were immediately convinced.'
BouwData Takes the Next Digital Step in Belgium with Cadac
Since 2008, Peggy Bovens has been working under the name BouwData on a methodology that provides insight into the financial flow of construction projects. In Belgium there is no standard standards for this, no chart of accounts, like in the Netherlands. This frequently leads to discussions, delays, conflicts and even lawsuits over financial issues. BouwData is in fact a methodology in Excel, an administration system in which all parties involved consistently supply their information about costs. During the design and construction process, there is control over the costs and the administration. BIM may bring the desired acceleration in construction and also significantly reduce failure costs, a client or financier also wants to know what the financial consequences are.
Henco Industries Grows with Autodesk PLM
The real growth spurt came after the acquisition in 2008 by the listed conglomerate Aalberts Industries. The extra capital and the large worldwide network of Aalberts opened the doors for Henco Industries internationally. "That's right", says Jill Gielis, "Since 2008 we have grown significantly every year. But that also has a downside. Each department had its own system and culture. Everyone did their very best, but in their own way. There was little cohesion."
As a result, mutual communication left much to be desired; various Excel files, different versions of projects, circulated. More and more meetings and consultations were needed, production was delayed.
World Leader of Automatic Bus Door Systems
Public transport is growing and governments are investing heavily in electric and clean buses, so orders for door systems are 'raining'. “And not just here in Bolsward,” says Kevin Visser. “Our sales offices in Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, the United Kingdom and Germany are also doing very well. And not to forget in the US where we have a second production location.”
Totally fine of course, but Ventura Systems is reaching its limits. “It is all becoming very complex,” says director and co-owner Jan Lont. “We supply to large and small bus manufacturers in Europe, Asia and America. Manufacturers constantly innovate and want to bring new bus types to the market. In addition, older types are also produced and a door of the same type and version sometimes has to be replaced. This means that we now manage an extremely broad product range. We have more than 1,600 different types of glass plates in our database alone."
GMB Chooses Autodesk Construction Cloud
GMB is a versatile company, active in the world of water. GMB realizes dykes and port sites, renovates and builds sewers and pumping stations and designs and realizes purification installations and sludge processing installations. Digitization is high on the strategic agenda of the family business with its head office in Opheusden, Gelderland. Reason enough to work closely with Cadac to take steps in the coming years, especially in the field of Building Information Modeling (BIM). The first step is to install Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Decrease Mistakes with Autodesk Vault Professional
The biggest challenge for FMI ImProvia was organizing and converting an extensive archive of nearly twenty years of drawings and data to a new product data management library. The advantages of Autodesk Vault and the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection are now becoming clear.
“We can process new orders much faster,” says lead engineer Haiko Jaasma. “Everyone always works with the most current version and the collaboration between engineers and technicians in the workshop is more streamlined.”
Rapid Prototyping Thanks to Autodesk FeatureCAM
Products are usually integrated in the production lines and have to perform the various measurements at a rapid pace. "And new models have to be made regularly," says Steven Goetstouwers of Admesy. “Not because they break easily, but because the manufacturers of mobile phones, laptops or e-readers, for example, constantly want to bring new models or variants onto the market."
"Devices with other specifications for which the spectrometer or colorimeter also has to be adapted or rebuilt on a regular basis. We all know how fierce the competition is in consumer electronics. Time-to-market is decisive for success. A manufacturer cannot and does not want to wait months for a part such as the spectrometer. This is not necessary for us either. Not only do we have a prototype ready within a few days for the customer to test, we can also build and deliver the meters here in Ittervoort very quickly.”
KuiperCompagnons switches to Autodesk Construction Cloud with Cadac
Making new steps in BIM:
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an established concept at KuiperCompagnons. 'Obviously' says Michiel Burger, BIM specialist and who has been working for the office in the atmospheric and historical Van Nelle factory for eighteen years. “We like to be at the forefront of new developments. In 2007 we made the first steps from 2D to 3D with Autodesk Revit. We have seen a clear acceleration in recent years. Not only do almost all architectural firms design digitally, contractors and suppliers also see the need for the transition.
Digital design means fewer errors, less failure costs and more speed. Important if you know the building task and the necessary transitions to sustainable, energy-efficient and circular buildings. Autodesk's new platform offers more opportunities for collaboration. We have been working with the Autodesk Construction Cloud for a little over a year now and are very enthusiastic.”
VGELEC Took the First Steps in the field of BIM with Cadac
Initially, VGELEC contacted Cadac to replace outdated AutoCAD software. After two conversations, our consultant was able to get started with the installation of one AutoCAD from Autodesk and the proven Autodesk Revit BIM software. Clients from VGELEC are asking more and more often about BIM and also often ran into problems on the construction site. Examples included drawings in 2D that were incorrect, holes and slots that were milled in the wrong places, constructions where the electrical installations had not been taken into account, and so on. These challenges were time-consuming, expensive and in our view avoidable if you can design and plan in advance in a 3D model with the client. So, the main challenge faced was: how do you start with BIM?
Better Overview with Document Control
An important client of EMMTEC was dissatisfied with the way they delivered documents. That is why EMMTEC wanted to install Document Control as soon as possible. They already had plans to take measures together with Cadac, but this accelerated everything. Implementing such a solution in just over four weeks is by no means an easy task, also because it meant a completely new way of working for their engineers. That requires some training and adaptation.
Duits Sustainable Solutions Invests in Inventor and Vault
Duits Sustainable Solutions in Zutphen has built up a strong reputation as a machine and equipment builder in almost three decades. Under the leadership of the new owners, the company aims to grow both nationally and internationally in the coming years. This is a reason to invest in automation and information and communication technology (ICT).
More Efficiency with Inventor Tooling
Alara-Lukagro develops and produces soundproof doors, cabinets, walls and grilles for numerous applications and was looking for a way to filter and print the drawings of the sheet metal parts from the 3D design more easily and faster. A task that the Cadac consultants could help with, but Covid-19 had to carry out this entire process remotely. No problem for the Cadac consultants who were all working from home at that time.
Cadac and BIMpartners Support Jongeneel
Jongeneel is one of the oldest (founded in 1797) and largest (42 branches) wholesalers in wood, sheet and building materials in the Netherlands. The company is fully committed to Building Information Modeling (BIM) and therefore decided to be the first in its industry to make product data digitally available.
