MEP Model Analysis
Analyzing the needs of an MEP project as you are designing is an important part of using Revit. Learn how to set up the model using spaces and zones. Then learn how to run and troubleshoot Heating and Cooling Loads and Duct and Pipe Sizing.
Course modules
Spaces can be used by all disciplines to establish room names in a model as well as the basis for further analysis.
Spaces are full 3D elements that include important engineering data that rely on the volume of the space. Therefore each area in a model needs to be filled completely and correctly with a space.
Welcome to the Running an MEP Model Analysis in Revit module. In this module, we will build upon “setting up MEP spaces” modules. You will review and adjust space settings to prepare for heating and cooling load analysis, then generate and review heating and cooling analysis report.
Welcome to the Refining MEP Model Analysis in Revit module. In this module, we take a deeper dive into the MEP space setting in order to compare analysis results with design requirements. We will first validate the heating and cooling information within a space schedule. The schedule will show the impact of required airflow into a space to accurately size heating and cooling equipment. Next, we will modify a mechanical space type's settings. And finally, we will resize the mechanical equipment based on the updated information reflected in the schedule.
