Using Random Numbers as a Design Tool with Dynamo
Module | Outcomes and capabilities
Randomness is a useful design strategy but one that is difficult to implement manually. Computational design provides tools that make randomness much easier to incorporate. In this module, we’ll look at a workflow for generating random numbers using Dynamo. These random numbers will be used to create a design pattern for a building facade.
This module takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. By the end of this module, you should be able to:
- Understand how random numbers are generated using computational design
- Create a random number generator in Dynamo
- Use Boolean logic to set values based on a sequence of random numbers
- Select elements in a Revit model and change their type using Dynamo
Module pre-requisites
