Configuring Shared Parameters
Since we have cut sections and elevations, we were able to drag those onto a sheet. But how does the annotation family know exactly what to display?
To see how sections and elevations work, follow these steps.
- Open Revit.
- Go to Families, then to open.
- Open the architectural project
- Now open the Landing Page family
- In the Landing Page family, click the Label button.
-
Click the Add Parameter button as shown below.
- For Parameter Type click the Select… button.
- Click the Create button to create a new Shared Parameters file.
- Save it somewhere as Project_Project Parameters.txt
- Under Groups, click New…
- Name it Project Information.
- Click New… under Parameters.
- Call it SED Number.
- Make the type of parameter Text.
- Click OK.
- Click Add Parameter(s) to Label
- Click OK.
- Save the family and click Load into Project and Close.
- Overwrite the family if prompted to do so.
- Go to the Manage tab.
- Click Project Parameters.
- Click Add…
- Select Shared Parameters
- Click Select…
- Select SED Number.
- Click OK.
- Under Categories, select Project Information.
- Click OK.
- Click OK
- Click Project Information
